I recently had the opportunity to explore this fascinating land, and I must say that I was left spellbound by its beauty and serenity.

Dooars is a region that spans across the districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurduar in West Bengal. The name "Dooars" means "gateway" in the local language, and it is often referred to as the gateway to Bhutan. The region is characterized by dense forests, gushing rivers, rolling hills, and sprawling tea estates.

My journey through Dooars began in the picturesque town of Lataguri. This small town is located in the Jalpaiguri district and is the gateway to the Gorumara National Park. The park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. I was lucky enough to spot several species of animals, including the Indian rhinoceros, elephant, and bison, during my safari through the park. From Lataguri, I traveled to the quaint town of Jaldapara, which is located in the Alipurduar district. Jaldapara is known for its elephant sanctuary, which is home to over 200 elephants. I was mesmerized by the sight of these majestic creatures as they roamed freely in their natural habitat. Next, I headed to the town of Buxa, which is situated in the Darjeeling district. Buxa is known for its national park, which is a trekker's paradise. The park is home to several species of animals, including the elusive Bengal tiger. I went on a trek through the park and was left awestruck by the beauty of the lush green forests and the tranquil streams that flowed through them. The final leg of my journey through Dooars took me to the tea estates of the region. Dooars is known for its tea production, and the region is dotted with sprawling tea estates. I visited the Makaibari Tea Estate, which is located in the Kurseong district. The estate is known for its organic and sustainable farming practices, and I was impressed by the way the workers here took pride in their work.
