As the scorching summer heat bore down upon us, my wanderlust led me to the tranquil beauty of Dooars. Nestled in the lap of the Eastern Himalayas in West Bengal, India, this enchanting region is a haven for nature enthusiasts. In this summer travel diary, I will share my memorable experiences, from discovering the best resorts in Dooars to attending the delightful Boroli Fish Festival, along with insights on how to reach Dooars, must-visit sightseeing spots, and the thrilling jungle safari offered by Paramita Resorts.

Here are the primary modes of transportation to reach this scenic destination: By Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport, located approximately 80 kilometers away from Dooars. Regular flights connect Bagdogra with major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, and Guwahati. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a shared cab to reach Dooars. By Train: New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) is the nearest major railway station, situated about 70 kilometers from Dooars. It is well-connected to several cities across India. From NJP, you can hire a taxi or take a train to nearby towns like Siliguri or Jalpaiguri, and then proceed to Dooars. By Road: Dooars is easily accessible by road. State and private buses operate regular services from nearby cities like Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar. You can also opt for a private taxi or self-drive to explore the region at your own pace.

Must-Visit Sightseeing Spots in Dooars:

Dooars is a treasure trove of natural wonders and captivating wildlife. Here are some must-visit sightseeing spots that I explored during my trip: Gorumara National Park: Known for its diverse flora and fauna, Gorumara National Park offers a thrilling jungle safari experience. Traverse through dense forests, spot majestic Asiatic elephants, Indian bison, one-horned rhinoceros, and enjoy bird watching in this nature lover's paradise. Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary: Home to the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary is a delight for wildlife enthusiasts. Embark on an elephant safari or jeep safari to get up close with the exotic wildlife, including Royal Bengal tigers, elephants, and deer. Buxa Tiger Reserve: Nestled in the Eastern Himalayas, Buxa Tiger Reserve boasts stunning landscapes, dense forests, and diverse flora and fauna. Trek to the historic Buxa Fort, visit the sacred Mahakal Caves, and encounter rare species like clouded leopards and Chinese pangolins.

Jungle Safari:
